Student Insurance

Student Insurance

Every student who registers at the University of Belize is automatically covered by the university’s accident insurance plan with the Insurance Corporation of Belize ICB.  The insurance covers students twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week as long as they are registered at the university.  Students are covered whether they are on campus or at home, traveling to any of UB’s campuses, or on a UB club or class trip.  Students are even covered on weekends and holidays in and outside Belize.  More details of the plan’s coverage for accidents are outlined below.

The University of Belize is proud to partner with the Insurance Corporation of Belize Ltd. (ICB) to offer the PERSONAL ACCIDENT POLICY (P.A.P.) to all UB Students.

What is P.A.P.?

P.A.P is an ICB Personal Accident Protection Policy that provides  accidental and Death benefits to insured students. With the PAP coverage, insured students, including foreign students enrolled at UB, will have this protection on campus, off campus, in Belize or abroad. PAP covers the insured student for as long as they are registered at the university. The policy is renewable at the start of every semester during registration.  Students pay for the service as part of their registration fees.
