The Department of Student Affairs is starting a new academic tradition in the form of an exciting intellectual competition. Every January Semester, students will be invited to form cross program teams of five to participate in the Black Jaguar Innovation Challenge. The challenge is for the teams of students to study a pressing social problem and to conceptualize an innovative solution by using the expertise available among each team. The teams will work for eight weeks of the semester to develop thorough analyses and solutions. In the eleventh week of the semester, a panel of industry leaders and experts will be selected to hear and judge the presentation of each team in the competition. The judging panel will then announce the winners of the Innovation Challenge who will win an array of prizes congruent with the standard of excellence of the competition.
