Work Scholarships

Student-Worker Program

Students who have most of the cost of attending UB covered can raise extra funds to help pay for their tuition, transportation, food or housing by entering the student worker program. Every semester the Department of Student Affairs advertises positions available for students to fill as student workers. A student worker is a student who has a particular skill that the university needs and values so the university pays the student to work in one of its offices. The university pays students per hour worked every two weeks and students work between 10 to 20 hours per week. The university hires students to monitor its many computer labs, to help prepare the science labs, to tutor, to do landscaping, to provide graphic design services, to conduct data entry and customer service. The Department of Student Affairs advertises the opportunities every semester and students apply in response.
